Baidu Inc. (BIDU) stock falls after being downgraded at Vetr Inc.

Baidu Inc. (NASDAQ: BIDU) shares rose yesterday on lower trade volume than normal after a number of analysts weighed in on the investing value of the stock with a downgraded rating.

Shares of Baidu Inc. (NASDAQ: BIDU) were downgraded by analysts at Vetr Inc. in a note to their investors today. With a rating of Buy on the stock, the company has a 52-week high of $217.97. A number of other analysts have commented on the company recently, and the company has secured a consensus one-year price target of $187.89, higher than the opening price of $185.89, a difference of 10.21 percent. Downgrades are more likely when analysts believe that the future prospects for the security have weakened from the original recommendation, often caused by an important and fundamental digression in the company’s operations, future direction or industry.

Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.62% finished up 112.58 points, or 0.6%, at 18,281.03 yesterday.

The Nasdaq Composite Index COMP, +0.50% rose 26.36 points, or 0.5%, to end at 5,316.02, and is up 0.1% for the week to date.

The S&P 500 index SPX, +0.43% added 9.24 points, or 0.4%, to close at 2,159.73.

Shares of Baidu Inc. (NASDAQ: BIDU) opened at $185.89 yesterday trading between $183.28 and $185.89, and last traded at $184.11, which represents an increase of $0.03 or 0.00 from the previous closing price.
